Musician Manny Martinez weighs in on where Democrats went wrong, why he voted for Trump and how his near-death experience changed his life for the better.
I am having “vibes” that the vast majority of the independent and swing voters who went for Trump are, by now, so grossed out by what has been occurring since Trump got back in office that they are seriously re thinking their choice. The main people Trump has left are his hardcore base who aren’t going anywhere. They also don’t comprise anywhere near a majority of voters.
Harping on trans women in sports is incredibly unhelpful for both the right and the left. You could fit every trans woman who plays sports in the entire world in my backyard tool shed. I’ll bet all five or so of them are getting pretty self conscious right about now. I don’t think anyone is either a Nazi or a misogynist about this issue either way, I just think some people have a bit too much time on their hands.
Which is why the Democrats are, I’m also “vibing”, gearing up for a full on direction shift toward true Progressivism that will cross party, class and gender lines. I’m calling it!
Manny is my kinda guy I totally agree with his take on the homeless problem. This was a great conversation Ana I could have listened for hours. I grew up in a very religious Community and I know many of us run away from it and talk negatively about it. With time I also realized that in a way having a place of worship for people in a community is a good thing. We get stuck on proving who’s right or wrong and forget that no matter what we believe will all find out who’s right one day. Big up to you and your mom God is with you.
First, I want to say how sorry I am to hear that your mother is still in the hospital, and I wish for her (and you) health and healing! I also wish Manny much success in his sobriety and all future endeavors. This is a fascinating conversation that is giving me a lot to think about. It's really sad how purposely oppositional and pendulating our government is, and it's frustrating to know that if the people in power listened to us instead of disingenuously pitting us against one another for their benefit, we'd actually be a strong, healthy, and united citizenry. It's seriously crazymaking! 🕊️🧡🤲
