What the Hell is Going On in The Real Economy?

Economist and Wall Street whistleblower Nomi Prins weighs in on interest rates, trade policies, asset bubbles and how Central Banks distort the real economy.

Our guest for today’s Unaligned discussion is economist, public speaker and author Nomi Prins, who sacrificed a lucrative career on Wall Street to serve as an advocate for Main Street.

Unaligned is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a paid subscriber.

Prior to exposing Wall Street’s secrets as a whistleblower, Prins was a managing director at Goldman Sachs, a Lehman Brothers strategist and an analyst at Chase Manhattan Bank. When asked about her decision to walk away from Wall Street, Prins told The Progressive in 2014:

“Every crisis, followed by ‘remedies’ that consist of socializing the losses of banks while privatizing their gains, weakens democracy and the populations of the world.”

Prins went on to write several best-selling books, including “All the Presidents’ Bankers: The Hidden Alliances that Drive American Power.” In it, Prins writes that “the bankers were largely unconcerned with the party in power, as long as they could influence it.” Ain’t that the truth!

Two books by Prins that I highly recommend are “Collusion: How Central Bankers Rigged the World,” in addition to her latest work “Permanent Distortion: How the Financial Markets Abandoned the Real Economy Forever.”

You can also support her Substack “Prinsights with Nomi Prins.”

There are few people I’ve met in life who demonstrate the level of integrity Nomi Prins does. I have a tremendous amount of love and respect for her, and I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did.
