Oh, and Yacht Rock is amazing! (I have the t-shirts and YouTube Music playlist to prove it!) I mean, The Doobie Brothers, Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan... come on! 😉♥️⛵
As for the social media question, Cory Doctorow probably has an interesting perspective. He's constantly writing new books on tech from a leftist perspective and has a massive back catalog as well.
Ana's right; us gen-x'ers are kind of awesome 😉 Jason's mild-mannered insights were fascinating to listen to, thanks to both of you for this conversation and also to anyone who sacrifices for the benefit of their family's health.
First of all, you are a hero for doing what you did for your mother. I sincerely hope the both of you are doing well.
Thanks for reading out the question I wrote for Jason and thank Jason for answering it.
A while back I was doing my usual job of working loads overnight at a store. We wore whatever we wanted because the place was closed. Then the boss switched me to days because it was more convenient for him. Same job title, same pay. A delivery guy I used to joke around with while working nights saw me in my required white shirt and tie and said, “Sellout!” He was serious. Make of that what you will for whatever it’s worth.
I know people from years back who I reconnected with on Facebook after my views on some subjects were noticeably different than when we had last spoken. Some of them laughed, told me I’m an idiot and only contact me if they want to insult me. I said I never had a Twitter account, I didn’t say anything about Facebook:) I now hardly use Facebook at all.
For sure we all want to hide our nut, don’t we? Kristan and I got super lucky and just managed to get in under the limbo bar before we got priced out of the housing market forever. This was twenty five years ago. So here I am, Joe Democrat, and I’m totally down with Prop 13 and think it’s the fairest way to asses property taxes at least in general. But I would, wouldn’t I?
Ana, you gave your nephew the best 1st birthday present in the world: he will get to know and love his beautiful grandma. I'm so glad you and your family are doing well, and I can't imagine what you're all going through. My SCAD is stubborn and does not want to heal, so I might need open heart surgery to replace my twisty little artery, but I'm just lucky that such a surgery is even an option. While I'm still supposed to stay away from the news, you and Jason are helping me get through my days because your shows, etc., while news-based, are more pieces that use intelligence, compassion, and humor to discuss topics in a non-sensationalized manner that fits my groove. Thanks for reading my question; I, a 48-year-old, dub you an honorary Gen-Xer! 😉❤️🩹🤗

I always like seeing Jason here. Keep bringing him back!

Most Yaht Rock gives me the willies.
I knew that I was amazing but never attributed it to being Gen X. 🫢
Another great conversation Ana and yes Gen X are cool.

There's a new book called "Copaganda" that deserves a close look.
