This is a "kicking the can down the road" situation. Short term fixes, but potential long-term damage that will only hurt teachers, staff, and most Importantly, the students.

Evidently, Eric Adams isn’t the only big city mayor who went to 🤡 school.

Taking out a payday loan to pay teachers is peak incompetence, corruption, or both. You have average people who will miss meals before taking a payday loan because they know better. They have two options: raise taxes or lower costs. I know which one I am betting on them to do. It's like they have never watched the 1973 Cartoon Robin Hood.

Then, to bring up black folks exclusively instead of his whole community, whatever color they happen to be, is just disgusting... If I had gone up there and said, "Poor white kids and poor white moms,"... we would be having a different conversation about this conversation. And rightfully so. What a mess. I am rooting for Chicago, and I hope they figure it out. But I won't be holding my breath...

There's enough actual racism, sexism, and bigotry in this world without calling it out when it isn't there just to make a few bucks. To me, doing that only makes racism, sexism, and bigotry worse. Shame on him and whoever is in line with his schemes.

Where does Chicago plan to raise the revenue to repay this loan?

So far there's a possibility of increasing property taxes. But Johnson seems to be eyeing cuts more than anything, including layoffs and slashing two months from police academy training, which I think would be a terrible idea. The union is asking to redirect money meant to incentivize housing developments to the school district.

So we're ruling out a secret FEMA trove for now. These are short-term high interest notes. I think the union should be offering the city a deal using their own liquidity. Chicago should be looking at eliminating the ward system before cutting back on essential workers and services or increasing their current outrageous property taxes. Downsize city workers union admin staffs and leadership - that will improve longevity and quality of life. City government administration body fat ratio is beyond obese.

The man is shameless and blatant about using racism and accompanying feigned outrage and even tears as a shield to protect him from questions he doesn’t like. I wonder if anyone buys it?

The guy is basically a woke colored Donald Trump. Horseshoe Theory is real, a lot of these people who are vehemently opposed to Republicans, will often engage in the same corrupt and short term satisfaction and long term degradation of community like the worse of the opposite side of the coin.

Yes, that Trump vibe came through loud and clear.

The question they should have asked him was does he believe he’s gonna get away with this corruption? Once schools shutdown because of this joker he’s gonna be the one to blame.

Time to leave these lefty run cities guys. Couple acres and a small dwelling is all we need. This dude might become the male version of super mayor.
